Emma Raducanu has seen a significant boost in her WTA rankings, climbing to World No. 48 after a strong performance at the Miami Open in March 2025. This marks her return to the top 50 for the first time since 2022.
Ranking Ascendance Fueled by Miami Open Success
Raducanu’s jump of 12 spots in the rankings is a direct result of her run to the quarterfinals of the Miami Open. During the tournament, she secured four consecutive wins, including victories over two seeded players, before a hard-fought three-set loss to World No. 4 Jessica Pegula. Her performance in Miami was a notable turnaround after a challenging showing at Indian Wells.
This improvement in ranking is particularly significant given the adversity Raducanu has faced in recent years, including surgeries on both wrists and her right ankle in 2023, followed by a string of minor injuries that hindered her progress in 2024.
Preparing for Upcoming Tournaments
Following her Miami Open campaign, Raducanu indicated a desire to reassess before heading into the clay court season. She has since participated in various tournaments, including reaching the fourth round of the Italian Open in May 2025.
Raducanu’s schedule for the summer of 2025 includes several key tournaments. She participated in Wimbledon from June 30 to July 13, where she faced top seed Sabalenka in the third round on July 4. She is also scheduled to compete at the WTA 500 Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington from July 21-27, and the WTA 1000 Cincinnati Open from August 5-18, as she prepares for the US Open in late August.
The British tennis star has been aiming for higher rankings since reaching the top 10 in 2022. Her recent success and improved ranking position her well as she continues her return to top-level competition.
