Jannik Sinner has officially qualified for the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals, joining Carlos Alcaraz as the first two players to secure their berths in the prestigious year-end championship. The Italian, currently ranked world No. 1, will return to Turin as the defending champion of the event, scheduled to take place from November 9-16 at the Inalpi Arena.
World’s Top Two Secure Early Qualification
Sinner’s qualification was confirmed on August 8, 2025, following a stellar season that includes two Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, as well as reaching the final of Roland Garros. His consistent performance has seen him hold the top spot in the PIF ATP Rankings for 60 consecutive weeks since June 2024. This marks Sinner’s fourth appearance at the ATP Finals, having previously won the title in 2024 and reached the final in 2023.
Carlos Alcaraz was the first player to clinch a spot in the 2025 ATP Finals, securing his qualification on July 8, 2025, after advancing to the Wimbledon semi-finals. The Spaniard, currently world No. 2, has also had a dominant year, leading the ATP Tour with five titles and 47 tour-level match wins. Alcaraz has a remarkable 90.4% winning percentage this season and has claimed ATP Masters 1000 trophies in Monte-Carlo and Rome, along with his second Coupe des Mousquetaires at Roland Garros and a title at Queen’s Club. He will be pursuing his maiden ATP Finals title, having reached the semi-finals in 2023.
The Race to Turin Continues
The Nitto ATP Finals bring together the top eight singles players and doubles teams based on the ATP Race to Turin standings, which accrue points throughout the 2025 season. The qualification criteria prioritize the top seven players in the Race to Turin after the final week of the ATP Tour on November 8, 2025. Additionally, up to two 2025 Grand Slam winners ranked between 8th and 20th can qualify, followed by the eighth-ranked player in the ATP rankings.
With Sinner and Alcaraz locked in, the remaining six spots are still highly contested, promising an exciting conclusion to the regular season as other top players vie for their place in the prestigious year-end event in Turin.
