Djokovic Sends Humorous Message to Federer After Wimbledon Victory
After advancing to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon 2025, Novak Djokovic acknowledged Roger Federer’s presence in the audience with a witty statement. Djokovic defeated Alex de Minaur in a hard-fought match. Following his victory, Djokovic pointed towards Federer and quipped, “It’s probably the first time Roger has watched me win a match here. The last couple I lost. It’s good to break the curse”.
Djokovic is pursuing his eighth Wimbledon title, which would tie Federer’s record. He has won the title seven times. In 2025, Djokovic earned his 100th match win at Wimbledon, joining Federer and Martina Navratilova as the only players to reach that milestone.
Federer and Djokovic have a storied rivalry, facing each other 50 times. Djokovic holds a 27-23 lead in their head-to-head record. They have played 17 matches at Grand Slam tournaments, with Djokovic leading 11-6. Their matches include the 2019 Wimbledon final, which was the longest in the tournament’s history.
